JABBerwocky ❦

                                                                           Jabberwocky (extended version)

(see original poem by Lewis Carroll verses 1+2)

Jabberwock my friend all good things must end,
Though we try to put it off.
There is one who comes for you, his sword is bright and true,
The light of life he will cut it off.

Many times we shared a joke, the battle won we compared notes,
And toasted our lady luck, now she's gone,
And you're alone and you won't be coming home.
Today the sword will run amok.

So this is how it ends,
As you wander you native lands.
Lived in peace a hundred years,
No knowledge of human fears,

Your instincts let you down.
Evil forces gathered round.
Naked you meet the foe,
To receive the fatal blow.

Now comes the beamish boy.
He sharpens his deadly toy
Your bitter end he will enjoy.
Your precious life he will destroy.

(see original poem by Lewis Carroll verses 3+4) Many times we shared a smoke, the party done the campsite broke,
We drank the health of ladies fair.
Now they're headed for the coast. They don't hang out with ghosts.
They know you won't be spared.

And now the end begins.
A plague within your homelands.
He Searches low and high, high and low.
He tracks you everywhere you go.

The babbling brook tells you to hide.
So does the icy voice inside.
There is no chance for you to rest.
The boy is giving you his best.

His instincts have not led him stray,
He feels your presence every day.
The hunter closing in on prey.
You won't escape the end of days.

Now comes the beamish boy.
He sharpens his deadly toy
Your bitter end he will enjoy.
Your precious life he will destroy

(see original poem by Lewis Carroll verses 5+6)
